Damascus Soccer Club Academy Program Overview

Fee Structure
New Players pay a $95 registration fee plus a uniform fee.  Returning players with a uniform only pay the $95 registration fee.

Uniform Fees
- Pre-K: $10
- Kindergarten: $20
- First Grade: $30

Mission of Academy
-    To introduce fun and skill development into the game of soccer at a young age.
-    To develop good habits from the start of playing experience.
-    To integrate the parents and parent/coaches into the “teaching” aspects of the game of soccer.
-    To set the foundation for the player for years to come.

Philosophy
-    We do this for the players’ benefit.
-    The atmosphere must be engaging and rewarding.
-    We use our best trainers for the players’ first soccer experience, combining:
-    Professional players
-    Licensed and accredited coaches
-    Advanced Club-level players
-    We “train the trainer” for parents to become future coaches.


Academy Program Offerings

Pre-Kindergarten
Have Fun, Fun, Fun…
-    lots of Touches on the ball
-    training Sessions/Games that reinforce basic contact with the feet
-    use both feet as natural part of play
-    use three surfaces of foot = inside, outside & sole of foot
-    Introduction to Soccer - basic skills, good habits
-    45 min sessions with playing built-in, plus 2 weeks of 4v4 games
Kindergarten
More Fun, Fun, Fun…
-    lots of touches on the ball
-    use both feet, introduce five surfaces of foot = inside, outside, laces, heel and sole of foot
-    introduction to dribbling, passing, shooting, shielding
-    shielding the ball during dribbling
-    introduction to most aspects of game
-    60 min sessions with game at end, and 2 weeks of 4v4 games

First Grade
Our First Grade Academy program is designed to allow young players to experience the thrill and pride of playing on a soccer team while keeping the benefits of top notch instruction by our staff of professional coaches.  All of the First Grade teams practice together on a weekday afternoon and then meet on Saturday mornings to play in games.  All practices and games are guided by DSC staff coaches.  Every player is given lots of playing time in each game and our small coach to player ratio allows for lots of individual attention during weekday training sessions.

Registration
Registration for the Fall sessions opens in early June and closes after the 2nd session.  Spring registration opens in November and closes after the 2nd spring session.  DSC offers online registration for the DSC Academy through our website.
